Start Loving Your Body RIGHT NOW: Real Talk About Body Confidence and Boudoir
Start Loving Your Body TODAY—No Weight Loss Required
Let’s talk about something real: loving your body, exactly as it is today.
If you’re like so many of the amazing women I meet, you may carry around a bit of shame or dissatisfaction with your body. Maybe you avoid mirrors. Maybe you hide behind loose clothes. Or maybe you’ve been putting off booking your dream boudoir session until you “lose the weight.”
But what if you didn’t have to wait to feel confident?
What if you could start loving your body—right now?
Imagine This for a Second…
Imagine waking up and not criticizing your reflection.
Imagine celebrating your body rather than shaming it.
Imagine feeling sexy, confident, and worthy—no matter the number on the scale.
💭 Really take a moment to visualize that version of yourself. She’s not perfect, she’s powerful. She’s not “there yet,” she’s enough right now.
Here’s the hard truth most people don’t talk about:
👉 You can hit your goal weight, tone your arms, or squeeze into your dream jeans—and still not love your body.
I know this might sound shocking. You might be saying:
“No way, Liz. If I were a size 2, I would absolutely love my body!”
But after photographing hundreds of women of all sizes at my studio, I’m here to tell you—body love doesn’t come from the mirror. It comes from the mind.
Size Does Not Equal Beauty
At Chicago Boudoir Photography, I’ve seen firsthand how beauty and confidence radiate from within. I’ve worked with women from sizes 0 to 24, ages 21 to 71, and from every walk of life.
Here’s what they’ve taught me:
💥 Body love is a mindset, not a measurement.
💥 You can decide to start that mindset shift today.
So how do you begin?
My #1 Body Confidence Tip: Start with Your Self-Talk
Let’s be honest:
What do you say to yourself in the mirror?
How do you talk about your body—to yourself, to others?
Many women are caught in a cycle of internal bullying. They say things to themselves they’d never say to a best friend. And over time, those thoughts shape how you feel and what you believe is possible for yourself.
So here’s one small shift that can make a huge difference: ✨ Try positive self-talk.
Imagine being a bit kinder to your body and treating her like a friend rather than like an enemy.
I know that to start, it might be too much of leap to start saying something bold like, “I love my body.”
So my tip is to start much smaller.
Instead of saying something awful about your body, try something like this:
“I have a body.”
“My body allows me to do things I love.”
“I have a body and therefore I can [insert here something that you like to do. For example: hold hands with my boyfriend, eat Cheetos, hear the sound of the ocean]”
Just the small act of replacing negative self-talk with neutral statements like the ones above will jumpstart your body love and body confidence. Give it a try!
Need Help with Positive Self-Talk?
I’ll be honest—positive self-talk didn’t come naturally to me at first. Like so many women, I spent years looking in the mirror and only seeing the things I wanted to change. I was quick to criticize, slow to show grace. But over time, I realized that my inner dialogue was shaping how I felt about everything—my body, my worth, even my relationships.
One of the most powerful tools I’ve discovered in shifting that mindset? Affirmations.
I started small—writing one kind thing on a sticky note, repeating a simple phrase before bed, keeping a few uplifting thoughts on my phone’s lock screen. It felt silly at first, but the truth is: the words we speak to ourselves matter. They create the foundation for how we show up in the world.
That’s why I created something special for you: a set of 52 Empowering Affirmations I’ve personally used and shared with clients who are on their own journey to body confidence. These aren’t generic phrases—they’re thoughtful, honest reminders to help you start being kinder to yourself today.
