Love Your Body Always: Interviews From the Boudoir Experience

Interview with Ms. F

It’s not always easy to love your body. As women, we are often taught to hide or shrink. This can make it difficult to see ourselves as we really are (i.e. really sexy). Ms. F, a bride who recently visited the Chicago Boudoir photography studio, felt this way.

Between wedding planning and weight gain, she wondered if boudoir was for her. Like many other women, she worried that she wasn’t enough. Now she knows that isn’t true. Why? Because Ms. F decided to be brave and celebrate herself through the art of boudoir.  Spoiler alert: her husband loved the photos!

Not sure if you are ready? You might want to reconsider. Here are 3 of Ms. F’s top takeaways after her luxury boudoir photoshoot.

On Choosing to Love Your Body

Bravery isn’t a feeling. Actually, bravery is what happens when you DON’T feel like doing something scary, and then you do it anyway. That was the case for Ms. F.

At first, she was only focused on the end result. Ms. F told us she worried “I wouldn’t be proud to show my husband [the photos]”. This was because of her recent weight gain. It made her hesitant to even try boudoir.

But choosing to love your body is a lot like being brave. You do it even when you don’t always feel like it! For Ms. F, there was an even bigger motivation than insecurity. “I thought it would be a fun thing for a wedding present for my husband, but also for me”, she mentioned. That spark of joy made bravery worth it! So, Ms. F chose to love her body and come to the Chicago Boudoir Photography studio.

On Overcoming ‘Ickiness’

Like many other women, Ms. F wasn’t sure she should book a boudoir photoshoot at first. She remembered fearing, “that I would hate my photos because I looked fat” and that “I was going to spend a bunch of money on photos I wouldn’t be proud to show my husband”. As a bride to be, this insecurity around her body felt intimidating!

And yet, according to Ms. F, boudoir helped her release those fears. “My favorite part”, she said, “was how comfortable Liz made me feel throughout the whole shoot.” Remember, when boudoir is done right, it highlights all the reasons you really love your body. It’s about elegance, strength, and joy!

An experienced photographer can really make or break the boudoir experience. Ms. F told us, “I very much felt like my privacy was respected”. With respect came comfort and, then, freedom. Ms. F described this feeling as, “ free to show my body without feeling icky.” What a reward for bravery!

On Undeniable Sexiness

Of course, there is no better feeling than knowing you love your body. Still, having a printed collection of your sexy boudoir photos is pretty good too! “It turned out AMAZING” Ms. F told us. In fact, she said, “my husband loved the photos and was so happy!”

Suddenly, she didn’t have to worry about not being proud to show her husband her body. Her sexiness was undeniable; there was photographic proof!

The best part? Ms. F said the studio “[worked] with me to almost create my own package” so she could “walk out with more photos than I thought going in”. This flexibility really added to the overall experience of trust and respect Ms. F was already feeling. When if came to her boudoir experience at the Chicago Boudoir studio, she even went as far as to say “I can’t think of any way to improve”.

Now It’s Your Turn!

Ms. F is not alone. It is hard to love your body through all of it’s different stages. You have to take the time to reintroduce yourself to your own undeniable sexiness. What better way to do that than with a luxury boudoir photoshoot?

For Ms. F, her boudoir photoshoot surprised her in all of the best ways. That’s because a boudoir is so much more than sexy photos. It is about empowerment! In boudoir, your sense of comfort and self-expression are truly celebrated! There is no better way to build a better relationship with yourself and remember how to love your body.
