✨ Empowering Women, Reclaiming Confidence: Hanging with Hays Podcast

Bold, Empowered, and Unapologetic: Discussing Boudoir on Hanging with Hays

“It’s time we stop letting the male gaze define our worth — and start seeing our bodies as our own again.”

I recently joined Chelsea Hays on the Hanging with Hays Podcast to dive deep into body neutrality, self-love, and the transformative power of boudoir photography. This isn’t just about photos — it’s about confidence, empowerment, and reclaiming your voice.

Breaking Free from Cultural Expectations

For too long, society has tried to tell women how they should look, behave, and even value themselves. On the podcast, we discussed how these pressures shape our body image and self-perception, often making us feel like our worth depends on someone else’s approval.

Boudoir photography challenges that. It’s about stepping in front of the camera and saying: I see me. I like me. I own me. It’s about embracing your body, your story, and your power, no apologies needed.

The Real Power of Boudoir

Many people think boudoir is just sexy photos — but that’s just the surface. In reality, it’s about transformative experiences that help women reclaim their confidence. During our chat, I shared stories of women who walked into my studio unsure, nervous, or self-conscious — and left feeling unstoppable, empowered, and proud of their bodies.

Boudoir allows women to see themselves differently, to focus on what makes them strong, beautiful, and uniquely themselves, rather than trying to fit someone else’s mold.

My Journey as a Boudoir Photographer

I also opened up about my story to creating Chicago Boudoir Photography, a studio that’s safe, welcoming, and unapologetically bold. From navigating societal expectations to designing sessions that focus on self-love and empowerment, my mission has always been clear: help women celebrate their bodies and their confidence.

We also talked about the balance between creating empowering images and avoiding the male gaze. Boudoir is for the woman in the mirror, not anyone else. That’s what makes it so powerful.

Why This Conversation Matters

Chelsea and I discussed why women need to see themselves as their own priority, and how even small shifts in perspective can have ripple effects in everyday life. Whether it’s booking a boudoir session, trying a new style, or embracing body neutrality, the act of reclaiming your confidence can truly transform how you move through the world.
