It is amazing how an image can look completely different when put in black & white. Sometimes the entire mood of the photograph is changed by simply removing color.

Images that prioritize shape, pattern or texture are often better in black & white because you are eliminating the distraction of color which leaves the whole focus on the subject.

On the other hand, color images can add depth, contrast and make a photo more interesting.
