"I wanted to be fancy for a day and have some fun pictures"

Some women think they need a special occasion to do a boudoir photoshoot, but I am here to tell you that is not true! While a boudoir photoshoot makes a great wedding, birthday, or anniversary gift, I have to let you in on a little secret—-half of the women that come into my studio for a boudoir photoshoot don’t have a typical special occasion at all! Their special occasion is taking some time to celebrate them!

Some of the not so typical reasons for doing a boudoir photoshoot are actually some of my favorite shoots. I have women who are celebrating the work they have put into getting their body to a healthy place. Other women come in to commemorate a goal they have accomplished like a graduation, a new job, or a fitness goal. Some women come to recognize how far they have come with accepting and loving their body just the way it is!

These occasions, these moments, are worth celebrating! They are just as important, if not more than any other typical occasion we celebrate in our lives. And that is why we do what we do here at Chicago Boudoir Photography—we love to play a small part in celebrating your unique story.

What was your main reason for booking a boudoir shoot?: I wanted to be fancy for a day and have some fun pictures. I have worked hard on my body and learned to appreciate it so much more than I used to, so for me it was about appreciating the body that I have.

What was your biggest fear before or during your boudoir shoot?: Finding things to wear.

How did the shoot turn out? / Tell us your favorite part about your boudoir shoot experience.: I loved all my pictures. It was a great experience. I ended up finding all of the right lingerie pieces for my shoot and I loved being in the photo studio.

Did you give your boudoir photos as a gift? How have you enjoyed your photos since the shoot?: They were mostly for me, but my husband loved them too.

Is there anything else you'd like to share? / Is there anything we can improve?: It was great!
