Professional Hair and Makeup at the Chicago Boudoir Photography Studio - Before and After Photos
Hello there, gorgeous!
When was the last time you had your makeup done professionally?
I got married BEFORE PINTEREST was invented (I know, I know, I deserve a total wedding do-over!) and at the time, I didn't even know that professional makeup was really an option! I had my hair done up into prom hair (so much hairspray!) and then just did my own makeup. I was young and didn't know! I had a beautiful wedding day, but yeah, I definitely could have benefitted from some professional makeup services ;)
Whether you’re at the studio for a bridal boudoir shoot or just to celebrate YOU, every session at the Chicago Boudoir Photography studio includes professional hair and makeup to get you camera-ready for your photo shoot!
This beautiful woman was in the Chicago Boudoir Photography studio recently. We had a blast during her shoot and she ordered a leather-bound album to give to her groom on their wedding day! Isn’t she gorgeous?? Check out her “before-and-after” makeup shot here:
Part of the luxury experience at the Chicago Boudoir Photography studio is getting all dolled up first! Our beauty team is very skilled at using makeup that looks flawless on camera.
Here’s are some important details about what to expect with professional hair, makeup and lashes for your boudoir shoot:
HAIR
Plan to arrive at the studio with your hair clean and dry.
Clean hair is the easiest for the stylist to work with. Day-old hair is fine if you don’t typically wash your hair every day, but if the roots of your hair are wet or greasy, it will be difficult to style.
The most common look for boudoir hair is loose, beachy waves. The artist will use dry styling and hot tools (curling iron, flat iron etc) to achieve a super sexy hair look for you.
Do NOT plan on having the artist blow-dry your hair.
An up-do hair style is not included in your session fee, but can be accommodated for an additional fee. Contact us at least 7 days before your shoot to purchase.
MAKEUP
Arrive at the studio with your face clean and makeup free.
Be sure to let the makeup artist know upfront if you have any allergies, sensitivities or special requests.
Feel free to bring inspiration photos to help guide the artist to the look you love.
The signature look for boudoir photo shoots is a subtle smokey eye, eyeliner, sun-kissed cheeks and a nude or pink lip.
The camera and lighting that we use at the studio requires a heavier makeup look than what you may be used to wearing. The hair and makeup artists are very experienced at using the right kind of makeup for a boudoir shoot and will make sure that you look fabulous for your shoot. This is your chance to glam it up a bit!
Many women worry about blemishes or small bruises showing in their photos. Don’t worry - whatever can’t be covered with makeup can always be photoshopped out.
Want to do a natural look AND a super glam look at your shoot? Contact us at least 7 days before your shoot if you would like to schedule a second makeup look (additional $75).
LASHES
False lashes are key to getting that super glamorous look in your boudoir photos. If you’ve never worn temporary lashes before, they may feel heavy at first. But after the lashes are fully dry (about 5-6 minutes), you will hardly notice they are there.
To remove the lashes, just rub gently with warm water and/or makeup remover and they will slide right off.
Most women have a lot of questions before they come in to do a boudoir photo shoot. Do you have any questions specifically about hair and makeup? Shoot me your questions in the comments or call /text me anytime at 3124252946. Are you ready for it to be YOUR TURN for a bombshell boudoir experience? We can’t wait to have you in the studio!! xo Liz
