Where should I buy lingerie for my boudoir shoot? Lingerie Buying Guide from Chicago Boudoir Photography
So you’ve booked a fun boudoir shoot and it’s time to figure out your wardrobe! This might be a great excuse to do some lingerie shopping! The most important thing is to select items that YOU love and that fit well. If you love your wardrobe, then you will feel confident — and that confidence will show in your photos! Your boudoir shoot is really more about YOU than about your wardrobe, but a few carefully selected pieces can really make your photos look amazing.
Here are some tips for lingerie shopping for your boudoir shoot:
*Try on everything before you come into the studio.
*You don’t have to bare everything. A bodysuit or corset that covers your middle is often just as sexy (or even more so!) than a bra and panty set. Other items that cover a bit (but don’t cover everything!) are robes, lace sleeves, stockings, shirts, high-waisted panties and garter belts.
*Jewel tones like crimson, deep purple, navy and burgundy look good on almost everyone!
*Anything with a little texture will photograph well - think lace, mesh, beading or metal studs.
*We always recommend bringing at least one wardrobe item that has a little bit of lift, boning or wiring for extra shaping (such as a push-up bra).
*Remember, you can also do some “white sheet” (implied nude) shots for your second outfit!
