I get asked all the time: “I’m so nervous - I”ve never done something like this before! Can someone like me really look good in boudoir photos?”
The answer is YES! - but first of all - it’s totally normal to feel nervous about doing a boudoir photo shoot. Getting this kind of photo taken is a very personal thing to do! And most likely this is out of your comfort zone. (Unless you’re a lingerie model already?? I didn’t think so.). But some of the best things in life are outside of our comfort zone. One of the reasons that a boudoir shoot is so fun and so empowering is precisely because it is a little nerve-wracking. Almost everyone who leaves the studio says something like, “Wow, that was WAY more fun than I was expecting!”
The things that make a boudoir shoot super fun and empowering are the same things that make a boudoir album the best gift ever. Clients often tell me: “My husband/boyfriend/fiance will be so surprised that I did this. He would NEVER expect me to do a boudoir shoot.” And that’s exactly why this is is the best gift ever. The fact that you did this hard/nerve-wracking thing is part of the awesome gift.

1) Wardrobe - We’ll help you be prepared and bring the right wardrobe items to your boudoir shoot (check out our where to shop guide and our prep guide). At the studio, we’ll help you pick which pieces will photograph the best and suggest accessories.
2) Lighting - We use both natural window light and studio lights to create the most flattering lighting for your shots. Check out our gallery and you’ll see how we’ll photography you in a variety of lighting settings, from dark and moody to light and bright.
3) Posing - You don’t have to know how to pose in order to look gorgeous in your photos. We will demonstrate everything you need to do - where to put your hands and what to do with your face. We will be with you every step of the way!
4) A little bit of Photoshop magic - After your shoot, we’ll apply a little bit of Photoshop magic to your photos to make sure you look your best. And don’t worry, we won’t do anything crazy like pasting your face on someone else’s body. But we will erase acne, stretch marks, etc.
