The Art of Being Seen: Boudoir Photography, Confidence & the Stories We Tell Ourselves

Redefining Confidence & Creative Identity: A Conversation with Kathy Mou

I was recently interviewed by Kathy Mou on her powerful podcast, Ignite Your Power, and our conversation went straight to the heart of why I do what I do. If you’ve ever wondered why boudoir photography can feel life-changing for so many women, this episode is a beautiful window into the emotional side of the experience.

Boudoir isn’t just about feeling glamorous or taking stunning images—though those things are absolutely part of the journey. What I shared with Kathy is that the real shift often begins the moment a woman decides to say “yes” to herself. That yes is an act of bravery, self-recognition, and reclaiming space in her own life.

Throughout the episode, Kathy and I talked about:

✨ Why so many women struggle to see themselves with compassion
✨ The emotional and mental blocks that show up before the session even begins
✨ How being witnessed—fully and without judgment—creates transformation
✨ The power of choosing yourself, your pleasure, your confidence
✨ What happens internally when women allow themselves to feel seen
✨ Details about my TEDx talk on Nudity Doesn’t Have to be Naughty

We explored the deep connection between confidence and self-trust, how vulnerability can become a doorway to power, and why boudoir so often becomes a turning point for women who feel disconnected from their bodies or their identity.

For so many, boudoir becomes a moment of coming home.

It was such a meaningful conversation, and if you’ve ever wondered about the real heart and intention behind Chicago Boudoir Photography, this episode captures it beautifully.
