Winnetka, Illinois, provides a diverse range of activities appealing to many interests within a charming North Shore setting. Winnetka is full of beautiful nature. The Green Bay Trail runs parallel to the Metra tracks and offers a peaceful route for walking, running, jogging, or biking. The trail is a fabulous way to get outdoors.

Winnetka’s downtown area offers a variety of cozy cafés, and upscale restaurants. Two of my favorites are Mino’s for delicious Italian fare and Hometown Coffee & Juice for breakfast. For a sweet treat, stop by Graeter’s Ice Cream, famous for its creamy, hand-crafted French pot ice cream. Their black raspberry chocolate chip is my absolute favorite, but you can’t go wrong with any of their rich, flavorful scoops.
Visit the Home Alone House
A must-see for movie lovers, the famous Home Alone house is located at 671 Lincoln Ave Winnetka, IL. While it’s a private residence, fans can take photos from the sidewalk and relive their favorite moments from the classic holiday film. Remember to be respectful!
Watch a Show at the Winnetka Community House
The Winnetka Community House is a historic venue hosts theater productions, concerts, and other cultural events. Check their schedule for upcoming performances and community activities.
Browse at an Art Gallery
Winnetka is home to many top-notch art galleries showcasing local and regional artists.
