Stepping Into Confidence on Connect Inspire Create Podcast
Building Confidence, Community, and a Business with Heart - my interview with Carol Clegg
Every time I sit down for a podcast conversation, I’m reminded how powerful it is to peel back the curtain and talk honestly about what really happens in the boudoir studio. My recent chat on the Connect Inspire Create podcast with host Carol Clegg gave me the chance to share not just what I do, but why I do it—the real transformations women experience when they see themselves in a new light.
What I love most about these conversations is that they go far beyond photos. We dive into confidence, body image, and what it means for women to step fully into their power—things that matter in the studio and in everyday life.
On the podcast, Carol and I talked about:
How boudoir photography changes lives. I shared why I show women their unedited images immediately after their session—it’s a powerful moment of recognition that says, “Yes, that’s me.”
What it means to “be ready.” So many women tell me they don’t feel ready to book a boudoir shoot. I always say: being ready is a decision, not a state of being. You don’t need to practice or prepare—just show up. (Read about what REAL Chicago Boudoir women are saying about their boudoir experience HERE!)
The business side of a passion. Running a luxury boudoir studio is more than creating beautiful photos. It’s about creating a safe, supportive space, protecting women’s privacy, and building a thriving online community of local Chicago women who encourage one another.
The power of community. My Facebook group has grown to over 10,000 women because it’s about more than selling photo sessions—it’s about real conversations, support, and connection.
We also talked about the realities of entrepreneurship: the doubts, the mistakes, and the importance of just keeping going. When I first opened my studio, many people told me it wouldn’t work. But I believed in the mission, and I refused to give up.
If you’re a woman considering a boudoir session, or if you’re an entrepreneur building a heart-centered business, I hope my conversation with Carol inspires you to take that next bold step.
