"I felt like an Instagram influencer!"

What was your main reason for booking a boudoir shoot?: I had a couple of friends do them and I had wanted to do one for years but it didn't feel like a priority. I went through a long term relationship break up and I wanted to experience something new that was just for myself so this felt like the perfect opportunity to do one.

What was your biggest fear before or during your boudoir shoot?: I had a lot of fears before my shoot. I had never gotten professional photos taken of me before. I was worried about picking out outfits that would look flattering. I don't usually wear makeup so I was worried that my makeup would be done and I'd hate the way I looked. I also didn't know how to pose so I fully expected my photos to come out awful/awkward looking and hating every single one of them without it being anyone's fault other than how I perceive myself and wasting everyone's time and efforts because I just don't like the way I look.

How did the shoot turn out? / Tell us your favorite part about your boudoir shoot experience.: It went very well. Like VERY WELL. I was excited to look at myself in the mirror after hair and makeup. I felt like an Instagram influencer lmao. and I was nervous even during the photoshoot of how the photos would turn out. My favorite part was when Liz and I sat down and picked out my photos. I looked at myself differently and felt like I saw myself in a new light.

Did you give your boudoir photos as a gift? How have you enjoyed your photos since the shoot?: I haven't gifted or shown the photos to anyone nor do I plan to. I did the shoot for me and me only. I do like to look at the photos from time to time when I'm feeling a little down. It's made me love my body and face the way it is without feeling too critical of myself. Looking at the photos also allow me to relive the rush I felt from the session.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?: I greatly appreciate the ladies at Chicago Boudoir for complimenting me the whole time. While I was getting my makeup and hair done, I was constantly told how cute I was haha. Throughout the shoot, I was asked and complimented with how natural I looked and if I had modeled before. It was such an ego boost.
