Hear what Heather had to say about her boudoir photoshoot experience!
Heather came into the Chicago Boudoir Photography studio (Winnetka, IL) for a fun boudoir photoshoot. She wanted to create a gift for her wedding anniversary and also wanted to feel confident and empowered!
Heather chatted with Liz (the owner and photographer at Chicago Boudoir) about her photoshoot experience:
Liz: Thanks for coming in for a boudoir photo shoot. What was the main reason that you decided to book a boudoir photoshoot?
Heather: I had been thinking about it and I've seen a lot of other pictures online and they were gorgeous. And there was an awesome special and I was like, “I have literally no excuse now not to do it!” My husband and I's anniversary was coming up and it was a furniture theme and I had no idea what to do because we don’t need anymore furniture in our house. So I thought, well, there's people posing on furniture with boudoir, so let's try it. Let's see how that works. And then I just signed up!
Liz: I'm so glad you did. I know it takes a little bit of bravery to do something like this. What were some of your concerns that you had before you came in?
Heather: So, being a little bit older and having had kids, I was very concerned, are my pictures gonna look right? Are they gonna look strange? Are they gonna look odd? Am I just gonna look old? And the day of I was, I was dying. I was so nervous, I almost turned around and went home. I was like, “I can't do this!” And I was worried that my makeup wouldn't look right. Liz put me at ease the second I walked in.
Liz: Awesome. Tell us a little bit more about your experience of the day of. How did it go?
Heather: So day of, like I said, I almost turned around and went home, but I was brave and I came in and Liz was warm and welcoming. My makeup artist was absolutely amazing. Everybody made me feel comfortable. I got a glass of champagne to start and was chit-chatting with everybody and really just getting into the spirit of this thing. And then Liz was like, “Hey, this is what's gonna happen.” She ran me through the whole procedure and the whole formatting and the whole setup. Then we just started taking pictures and her attitude is just so warm and welcoming. Liz is great. She was able to calm me down. She showed me some of the pictures that we had been taking and they were amazing. Like, I couldn't believe it was me. And at one point I asked her to send me an untouched picture of my butt because I was like, “Holy crap - I don't see my butt like that!” It was amazing and it was fun and warm and welcoming and the atmosphere couldn't be better. It's just awesome.
Liz: Thank you so much. We loved having you in!
