Dynamite Shoots with Inked Ladies: A Guide to Shooting Boudoir with Tattoos
It seems like the majority of clients who come in have tattoos now. Often times these ladies have booked a shoot specifically to highlight some new ink they just got. Though I personally don’t have any tattoos myself, I can see that they can really add a cool look to a shoot. I have a few tips for any lady who comes in hoping to highlight their beautiful tattoos:
Let me know ahead of time if there are tattoos that you’d like to highlight so I can plan ahead. Conversely, also let me know if there are tattoos you’d rather hide; I can work around those or airbrush those out in some cases.
Bring at least one outfit that doesn’t cover the tattoo.
The more light the better, in general. Also, very intricate tattoos will look best in the setups that have the most light.
Colorful tattoos can look great in darker shots—but again the details may not be distinct.
Simple backdrops help draw the eye to your tattoo.
You’ll want to mix up your selection of images regardless—some you’ll want to focus on your tattoos, and others you’ll want to focus on other things like an elegant pose, simmering expression or beautiful silhouette.
Here are some of the more memorable tattooed ladies I’ve had in recently. They really rock!
