Why Is Boudoir So Expensive?
"Price is what you pay. Value is what you get." - Warren Buffett
I love this quote by Warren Buffet. I think it highlights that there are two important pieces to any trade—Price and Value. Basically it’s what you give for what you get in return. When I read that a light bulb went on for me.
I grew up in a very thrifty home where saving money was prized almost above everything else. To this day, my father, who is CEO of a commercial real-estate agency, continues to wear second-hand suits and drives a 15-year-old Toyota Corolla. Holiday gifts exchanged are usually tchotchkes from events we’ve attended. I sometimes sarcastically remark at family gifts I’m given something like this: “Thanks for this picture frame stamped with the National Association of Realtors logo.”
Though I’ve outgrown some of those habits, I still lean towards the cheaper side of things. My instinct continues to always buy the cheaper item when it’s down to two choices. Consequently, my house is full of a lot of broken things! I’m also always losing things!
My husband is just the opposite; he leans towards buying the higher quality item whenever there is a choice. His possessions last longer and work better for obvious reasons. He tends to hold onto things longer. He clearly places more value on his things because he takes the time to learn about what he’s buying and what the difference in quality means.
This attitude has influenced my approach to my work as a boudoir photographer. I quickly realized that if I would put in the work to open a business, I wanted to produce a product or art that I would be proud of. This meant both being unique and of premiere quality. Most importantly, I wanted YOU to have a five-star experience.
So why is boudoir so expensive?
I could go through a list of the costs of the studio we shoot in, the equipment I use, the high-quality prints and albums that you receive, however, in the end that doesn’t really matter. What matters is that my clients, YOU, unanimously have wonderful experiences. I’ll outline a bit of the value you’ll receive from working with me.
Work with a very experienced photographer. I have 12 years of photography, thousands of hours shooting in a commercial studio and thousands of hours shooting boudoir. That means that I have seen it all, and I can make this a dream shoot for anyone.
Have the studio to yourself. I only book a single client at a time and my staff focus all of our attention on you. This process can take up to 4 hours and you are our only client throughout that time.
100 percent satisfaction guarantee. If you are not absolutely blown away by your photos, we will refund your session fee, no questions asks.
Same-day retouching for your photos. Before you leave the studio, you will be able to view your gallery of images and select what you want to keep. This gets you prints, albums and other products faster than anyone else.
High-end hairstyling and makeup. I have had numerous hair and makeup artists apply to work with me, but I have a small team of those who get it right every time. These trusted HMUAs are the best in the Chicago area.
If you value yourself enough to work with the best boudoir studio in Chicago, I would be delighted to work with you.
