Bridal Boudoir at the Chicago Boudoir Photography Studio

Hey there!

Do you happen to be engaged right now? Congratulations on one of the most exciting times of your life! I absolutely love weddings.

I got married BEFORE PINTEREST was invented, so I know that makes me officially OLD SCHOOL …. AND also officially entitles me to a total wedding do-over, am I right? Mason jars and burlap wasn’t even a thing when I got married ;)

Here are a couple of frequently asked questions about bridal boudoir:

Do I have to wear white lingerie?
White or ivory lingerie looks fabulous and very bridal, but it is definitely not a requirement for a bridal boudoir shoot. There will be time during your photo shoot to wear several different outfits and they don’t all have to be white or bridal themed. This might also be a fun chance to wear “something blue.”

Should I wear my veil at my boudoir shoot?
Wedding veils look fabulous in boudoir photos and you are welcome to bring your veil and any other wedding accessories, including your wedding shoes, wedding jewelry, garter etc. If you don’t want to bring your actual wedding veil to the photo studio, we have a selection of veils that you can borrow for your shoot. We also have pearls, garters and white lace robes that you can wear for your bridal boudoir shoot.

How far before the wedding should I book my boudoir shoot?
You can book your boudoir shoot as far in advance as 12 months before your wedding date. Most brides come to the boudoir studio 4-6 months before the big day. We recommend booking a minimum of 6 weeks in advance, but can sometimes accommodate rush orders.

When should I give my fiance the boudoir album?
You basically can’t go wrong with this one - he/she is going to love the album at any time! For bridal boudoir, you have a couple of options for giving your fiance your boudoir album and each one is special for its own reason:

1) The day before the wedding - Have someone in your bridal party deliver the album to your fiance’s hotel room the night before the wedding. He/she will be extra excited to see you the next morning for the wedding!

2) Day of the wedding - If your give your fiance the boudoir album on the day of the wedding, there’s a good chance your wedding photographer will be there to capture his/her reaction! Those jaw-on-the-floor photos will be priceless. Just make sure that your fiance has a place to put the album during the wedding ceremony and reception. You don’t want that album falling into your mother-in-law’s hands ;)

3) On the honeymoon - The wedding day is already packed with fun and excitement. Saving the boudoir album for the honeymoon can add an extra spark to your honeymoon!

Here are the top 4 reasons that that you should consider doing a boudoir photo shoot:

1) This One’s For You

The wedding is supposed to be about YOU, but sometimes wedding planning can start feeling like it is all about keeping Aunty Susie and your future MIL happy, am I right? Boudoir is chance to do something just for y-o-u, the bride! Give yourself a confidence boost to slay on your wedding day and maybe even get to know a new foxy side of yourself.

3) Who Doesn’t Love An Excuse To Shop?

Let’s face it, most of us love to shop. And even if you don't love hitting the mall, you probably have friends who do. Grab your girls for a fun day of lingerie shopping and throw in a weekend lunch for good measure!

4. Preserve Those Wedding Memories

As the saying goes, in 20 years you’ll regret what you didn’t do—not what you did. Commemorate this special time in your life by capturing the moment in a whole new way. Because you’re worth it. And when you look back, you’ll thank your past self that you made the investment.
