A real woman talks about her photo shoot at the Chicago Boudoir Photography Studio
Hello gorgeous! Ms S is on the blog today! She has had an incredible journey and looks absolutely stunning. She is beautiful inside and out and I am so happy I was able to capture her at the studio. This shoot gave me all the feels. Ms. S really stepped out of her comfort zone to do a boudoir shoot and I love how her photos turned out. We had such a fun time hanging out at the studio during her shoot! She was really open and willing to share her experience — scroll down to ready about Ms. S’s journey and her experience at the Chicago Boudoir Photography studio.
From Ms. S:
I want to tell you about a decision I made. My body and I had a long chat about how we feel about each other. She has always loved me, but I have never loved her. I decided that this year was THE YEAR that would change that.
Doing boudoir is always something I thought would be amazing to experience, but I never felt the time was "right" because my body "wasn't." I always wanted my body to be different: smoother, smaller, flatter, lighter. She was never enough as she was. Even when I was a size 8 and objectively thin, I looked in the mirror and saw something less than. Body dysmorphia is a real bitch.
Turning 30 this year was a wake up call. I don't want to spend the next 30 years the way I spent my first. I want to love and appreciate my body for all she does for me. And I want to recognize that she is beautiful the way she is. She is valid the way she is. She deserves to be loved the way she is.
I loved my boudoir shoot with the lovely Liz of Chicago Boudoir Photography. She's the best cheerleader a girl could ask for. I loved my experience at the studio and I LOVE my photos!
And a huge thanks to my husband for being my rock, my person, the person who sees me the way I've always wanted to see myself. I did this shoot for me, but I did it for you, too. (Btw, his jaw hit the floor when I gave him the album!)
Cheers to you all, and remember you're beautiful just the way you are ❤️
Thanks for sharing your journey, Ms. S! So many women feel exactly the same way that you do, but not everyone is willing to open up and talk about it publically. I love how your beautiful album turned out and so glad that our paths crossed at the boudoir photo studio. Hope to see you back in again sometime soon!
