Boudoir Posing: Legs Up
After I had my first dozen or so shoots under my belt, I couldn’t help but notice that there was a recurring theme - women loved a pose I used that I call “Legs Up.”. It’s the pose where the woman is on her back, looking upwards and the legs are extended together toward the ceiling. When I first started shooting boudoir, I had every client do everything the same way, but I’ve learned to adapt to the look of the individual client over time.
Though I have introduced different backdrops, props, lighting variations and poses over time, my consistent pose has been “Legs Up”. You can see here that it is a beautiful pose and it works for every body type. It simultaneously displays beautiful cleavage, hair and lengthens the legs. This is a crucial piece of a boudoir set and I love to see variations. See some highlights below from Maria’s shoot. Click here to check out the rest of her shoot.
