My Bold Journey Feature

In my feature, titled “Liz Hansen of Winnetka, Illinois on Life, Lessons & Legacy”, I shared my story and the philosophy behind my work as a boudoir photographer. One key point I discussed is a common misconception about boudoir photography:

Many people think boudoir is only for young, thin, or “model-like” women. In reality, boudoir is for every woman, at every age, size, and stage of life.

Through my work at Chicago Boudoir Photography, I guide women to see themselves in the most beautiful, powerful way. Boudoir isn’t about changing a woman’s body—it’s about changing the way she sees herself. Mothers, women in their fifties and sixties, and women navigating body changes after surgery have all left my studio feeling transformed, confident, and celebrated exactly as they are.

I also shared personal reflections on life and growth, including lessons I wish I could tell my younger self:

“You are enough exactly as you are, and you do not have to earn love or approval by being perfect. Your voice matters, and it is safe to take up space.”

I discussed the realities of running a boudoir photography business, from balancing art and entrepreneurship to building trust and creating an empowering luxury experience. Ultimately, what I understand deeply—and what I hope every woman experiences—is this: every person has inherent value and beauty that deserves to be celebrated right now. Sexy isn’t a size; confidence has no age limit.
