Penny’s photoshoot at the Chicago Boudoir Photography studio

“I felt like a divine woman coming out of my shell.”

It is impossible to be in a room with Penny without noticing her infectious enthusiasm for life. She absolutely bubbles with joy. Her social media accounts are descriptively titled “Positively Penny!” Her positive attitude created such a fun atmosphere during her boudoir photo shoot.

Penny had done several boudoir photo shoots before (including one in France - so fancy!) and she was ready for more! Penny is a wife, a mom and a super successful business woman. Penny has also been through a weight-loss journey and spent years practicing healthy living, eating and thinking. She is now in a place where she loves her life and body. She was fired up to celebrate all of that at the boudoir studio!

You can get a sense of what Penny’s boudoir photo shoot was like with some behind-the-scenes photos. I love that she took selfies in the dressing room mirror. Work it, Penny! Penny brought beautiful lingerie pieces to be photographed in, including a black lacy 2-piece bra and panty set, a royal blue bodysuit and a red and black corset. Here’s a “before and after” of Penny - she opted for a bright red lip and subtle glam eye makeup. She wanted her fabulous curly hair to look loose and fun.

We had such a blast during Penny’s photo shoot - there was lots of laughing in between the serious shots! After she saw her slideshow, Penny specifically requested to have no retouching on her images. She said, “I look fabulous just the way I am!” Full retouching is complimentary at the Chicago Boudoir Photography studio, but it is also a very personal thing and up to each woman how much (or any) retouching is done on her boudoir photos. I did a boudoir photoshoot this morning and it was amazing

I felt powerful, I felt like a bada**, I felt inspired, I felt feminine, I felt gorgeous, I felt like I was on top of the world! I felt incredible.

I know that a lot of you are probably thinking, “I could never do that!” But let me tell you: Liz at Chicago Boudoir Photography was incredible!  She not only made me feel so comfortable within my own body, but she also made me look like I was a divine woman coming out of my shell. I am blown away by my photos.

I felt drop-dead gorgeous from the hair and makeup artist’s work. I look like night and day.

What was your main reason for booking a boudoir shoot?: For me! I feel amazing so I wanted to remember this forever!!!

What was your biggest fear before or during your boudoir shoot?: None :)

How did the shoot turn out? / Tell us your favorite part about your boudoir shoot experience: UNREAL! I felt like a model! My favorite part was looking at myself and being like "I'm hottt and it's ok to say that!!"

Did you give your boudoir photos as a gift? How have you enjoyed your photos since the shoot?: No...but I showed my husband and he loved it. I am also sharing them with anyone who asks!

Is there anything else you'd like to share? / Is there anything we can improve?: Can't wait to do it again!! I loved it!!!
