We’re teaming up with local partners to provide both resources and opportunities for real change—supporting survivors and those still in the fight, one step at a time.

WINGS is a Chicago-area nonprofit dedicated to breaking the cycle of domestic violence through housing, education, advocacy, and wraparound services for survivors.

Join us as we’re hosting an in-person self-defense class specifically designed for women—no experience required! Learn how to protect yourself from common physical threats and armed assaults in a supportive, judgment-free environment.

Join us for an empowering in-person self-defense class designed specifically for women, hosted at the spacious Alpha Krav Maga Compound training facility in Northbrook.
In this introductory-level workshop, you'll learn practical and effective self-defense techniques that can be used in real-world scenarios! This class is perfect for beginners and requires no prior experience.
What you’ll learn:
👊 Basic defense against common empty-hand attacks
• Bear hugs (from front and behind)
• Chokes (from various angles)
• Hair pulls and other grabs
🛡️ Defense techniques against armed assaults
• Gun defense
• Knife defense
• Active shooter response strategies
💪 This dynamic class may include a combination of both empty-hand and weapon-based scenarios, giving you a powerful foundation in situational awareness, reaction timing, and self-protection.
